Substitute Teacher Assistant/Support Staff

Job TitleExpectations/Duties: Support the mission, vision, and values of Cornerstone Christian School through daily interactions with students, families, staff, and visitors. Help maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment throughout the school day. Assist teachers in and out of the classroom setting as assigned. Support classroom instruction by assisting individual students, small groups, and classroom activities under the direction of the teacher. Help prepare instructional materials, organize classroom resources, and assist with other classroom support tasks as assigned. Supervise students during arrival, lunch, recess, passing periods, dismissal, classroom activities, and other assigned times to ensure compliance with school rules, behavioral expectations, and safety procedures. Monitor classrooms, school grounds, hallways, restrooms, playgrounds, and parking lots as assigned to maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment for students and staff. Assist with student behavior management by reinforcing expectations, intervening in minor conflicts, and referring concerns to appropriate school personnel as needed. Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to foster a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered school culture. Support emergency procedures, including fire drills, lockdowns, evacuations, and other safety protocols, responding appropriately in accordance with school policies. Report safety concerns, suspicious activities, injuries, student welfare concerns, or disciplinary issues to school administrators in a timely manner. Provide supervision and support during school events, assemblies, chapel services, extracurricular activities, athletic events, field trips, and other school functions as assigned. Assist in enforcing school policies related to student conduct, dress code, attendance procedures, campus boundaries, and visitor protocols.
