Distribution Center Supervisor

Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and material handling. Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and support to warehouse employees and supervisors. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while enforcing OSHA and company safety standards. Ensure employees are properly trained on company procedures, customer requirements, and food safety standards. Monitor inventory accuracy, conduct cycle counts, and ensure proper product rotation and date-code management. Oversee quality control processes to ensure accurate receiving, shipping, and inventory transactions. Manage labor scheduling and staffing levels to align with customer demand and operational requirements. Monitor productivity, labor costs, and operational performance to meet department goals and budgets. Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other technology to maintain accurate inventory and operational records. Coordinate customer shipments and receipts while ensuring timely and accurate order processing. Maintain equipment and facility standards, including preventative maintenance schedules. Conduct regular safety meetings, operational reviews, and facility audits. Identify opportunities for process improvements, increased productivity, and reduced operational costs. Build and maintain strong customer relationships by addressing operational concerns and providing effective solutions. Track and report key performance metrics related to safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with management, sales, and other departments to support business growth and operational objectives.

Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of supervisory or management experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or third-party logistics (3PL) environment. Significant experience managing warehouse operations and leading employee teams. Experience working directly with customers and managing service expectations. Food handling or food-grade distribution experience strongly preferred. Temperature-controlled or refrigerated warehouse experience preferred. Strong understanding of inventory management, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple departments, priorities, and operational challenges. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Master's degree or MBA is a plus. Equivalent relevant management experience may be considered.

Work Environment: Primarily based in a warehouse and distribution center environment. Requires frequent walking and extended periods on concrete floors. Regular interaction with warehouse employees, management, customers, and vendors. Must be comfortable working in a temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
