Role:
Outreach Specialist Priority Location: South Africa Working Hours: US Business Hours (EST/CST) Type of contract: Contract Type of job: RemoteThe final offer is at the client's discretion and will depend on the candidate's interview result, skills, and experience.
About the Company:
We are a cutting-edge hardware and software startup revolutionizing the firearms resale industry. Based in the US, our proprietary mobile device allows gun store owners to automate the valuation and listing process. What used to be a tedious 45-minute task—photographing, pricing, and listing a firearm—is now condensed into under 60 seconds. We are a lean, high-velocity team of five, currently scaling as we sign our first enterprise clients.
About the Role:
As we launch our go-to-market strategy, we need a resilient and articulate Outreach Specialist to be the "boots on the ground" via phone. This isn't a high-pressure sales closing role; it is a strategic information-gathering mission. Your goal is to connect with gun shop owners across the US, navigate a unique and sometimes skeptical demographic, and secure contact information for further follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outbound Dialing: Execute high-volume calls to gun shops and firearm dealers during US business hours.
- Information Gathering: Navigate gatekeepers to obtain specific email addresses and contact names for decision-makers.
- Data Management: Log all call outcomes, updated contact details, and shop sentiment accurately within our tracking system.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Represent SlingIt professionally while speaking the "language" of the industry to build quick rapport.
- Qualifications & SkillsHard Skills:
- Native-level English Proficiency: Specifically, the ability to communicate clearly with individuals who have heavy regional US accents.
- CRM/Tech Fluency: Comfortable using G-Suite, digital dialers, and basic AI tools for data entry.
- Strategic Research: Ability to use the web to verify shop details before and after calls.
- Soft Skills:
- Thick Skin & Resilience: Ability to remain professional and upbeat when dealing with hesitant or blunt personalities.
- Cultural Adaptability: A "chameleon" communication style—able to build trust with a demographic that values straightforwardness and authenticity.
- Self-Starter Mentality: Capacity to work autonomously within a lean team where your output directly impacts the company's growth.
- Interest in Industry: A personal interest in hunting, firearms, or the outdoors is a significant plus.
