Principal AI Engineer (Remote) Direct-HireWe're partnering with the world's leading provider of technology-enabled claims and risk management solutions to support the growth of its enterprise AI engineering organization. We're seeking AI Engineers across multiple levels to build and operate production Generative AI agents, workflows, applications, and enterprise automation solutions. These are hands-on engineering opportunities focused on taking AI solutions from problem definition and development through production deployment and ongoing operation.
What You'll Do:
- Design, build, deploy, and operate production Generative AI agents, workflows, and applications
- Develop backend services and APIs using PythonBuild user-facing applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue, or comparable technologies
- Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms, and existing systems
- Develop AI workflows involving orchestration, tool use, state management, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop processes
- Build and operate cloud-based solutions in AWSDevelop infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Implement authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, observability, and error handling for production systems
- Evaluate AI systems for correctness, reliability, performance, and failure modes
- Work directly with business and operational stakeholders to understand real-world processes and translate them into practical engineering solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, data, platform, security, and vendor teams
- Troubleshoot and optimize production AI solutions for reliability, latency, throughput, cost, and performance
- Contribute to shared AI capabilities and enterprise engineering standards
What We're Looking For:
- Professional software engineering experience with hands-on development of production applications
- Hands-on experience building and shipping production Generative AI, AI-powered applications, agents, or workflows
- Strong Python development experience
- Full-stack software engineering experience, including backend services and user-facing applications
- Experience with React or another modern frontend framework
- Experience developing REST APIs and integrating enterprise systems and data
- Hands-on AWS experience building, deploying, and operating production workloads
- Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code technologiesExperience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD technologiesExperience with SQL and enterprise data integration
- Understanding of AI agents, workflows, tool use, orchestration, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop patterns
- Experience operating and supporting software in production
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with both technical and business stakeholders
- Preferred Experience
- Machine learning, model fine-tuning, or applied AIAI agent frameworks such as PydanticAI or comparable technologiesAI observability, AI Ops, or LLMOpsGraph databases such as Neo4jEnterprise architecture, security, governance, or compliance requirements
- Insurance, claims, healthcare, or other regulated operational environments
- Experience working directly with end users to translate business processes into software solutions
- Experience collaborating with external or vendor engineering teams

Important Note: These opportunities are focused on engineers with hands-on production experience building and deploying AI solutions. Experience limited to academic projects, notebooks, hackathons, demonstrations, tutorials, or basic AI wrappers alone does not represent the type of production engineering experience these positions require.
