Intermediate Care Registered Nurse (RN)

BJC HealthCare seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Intermediate Care unit. In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to clinically complex patients requiring continuous assessment and close monitoring. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, cardiac and telemetry monitoring, medication administration, care coordination, and patient/family education. Provide direct nursing care to Intermediate Care patients, including assessments, care planning, and evaluation Administer medications, treatments, and interventions following physician orders and clinical protocols Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient status, escalating changes promptly Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans Document care accurately in the electronic health record and maintain regulatory compliance Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes Precept and support new staff and participate in ongoing clinical education and improvement initiatives Intermediate/step-down clinical nursing Patient assessment and triage Medication administration and IV therapy Cardiac and telemetry monitoring Wound care and post-surgical management Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Care planning and care coordination Patient and family education Infection prevention and safety protocols Critical thinking and rapid response skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtained after hire Intermediate/step-down or acute care experience preferred
