Lutheran West is looking to hire a Vice Principal of School Culture for the 2027-2028 School Year. A full position description is listed below. Start date would be July 1, 2027. Vice Principal of Student Culture Lutheran West High School “Lutheran West’s mission is to prepare and equip students to excel in service, leadership and learning while living as disciples who are rooted and grounded in the love of Christ.“
Position Summary: The Vice Principal of School Culture is a 12 month position, reporting directly to the Head of School, and oversees all discipline and conduct for the entire student body, a 6th-12th grade school. The Vice Principal of School Culture, leads a team of Deans to support the oversight and carrying out of all discipline. The Vice Principal of School Culture will also sit on the Administrative Team for Lutheran West to help support and carry out the mission of the school.
Qualifications & Requirements: The Vice Principal of Student Culture will have experience in private, Christian educational administration as well as teaching ministry. At minimum, the Vice Principal of Student Culture should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or Business Administration preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in administration and teaching, along with a deep understanding of and commitment to Lutheran, Christian education and the mission of the CLHSA. The Vice Principal of Student Culture should demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as experience in strategic planning and implementation. This individual must be able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects, work collaboratively as part of a team, and approach challenges with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, the candidate should possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful, trusting relationships with students, families, faculty, staff, and the broader school community.
Duties & Responsibilities: The Vice Principal of School Culture is responsible for safety and maintaining a positive school culture, grades 6-12, at Lutheran West. The Vice Principal of School Culture will: Primary point person for student conduct & behavior for our student body while on campus during school and off hour events. The Vice Principal of Student Culture will issue disciplinary consequences where applicable in alignment with our student handbook. All follow up communication with students and families is completed by the Vice Principal of Student Culture. The Vice Principal of Student Culture oversees the student culture team, which includes the High School Dean of Students and Middle School Dean of Students. Support the Welcome Center in regards to overall processes for tardies, absences, and communication to families. Collaborate with the Vice Principal of Curriculum and Instruction to implement school wide goals in an effort to hold teachers and students accountable in regards to conduct, academic integrity, and attendance. Collaborate with the Vice Principal of Curriculum and Instruction to communicate any student culture points of emphasis in weekly faculty emails & meetings. Maintain and update the student handbook, evaluate individual policies yearly, and revise in accordance with school board decisions. Coordinate supervision for all special events to students are monitored, safe, and in compliance with the student handbook. Coordinate supervision for all athletics events to ensure our student body is monitored and upholding our core values. Work in tandem with the Campus Pastor and School Counseling Office to support students academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Implement Core Values with our Faculty, Coaches, and Programmatic leaders to ensure our school is aligned. Evaluate implementation and dissemination yearly. Create and implement student contracts with regards to behavior, as outlined in the Student Handbook. Create and implement attendance contracts, as outlined in the Student Handbook. Monitor and/or schedule the supervision of the locker rooms throughout the school day. Monitor and/or schedule the supervision of the cafeteria with the assistance of Faculty and other administrators. Be welcoming for students and families at the Main Entrance at the beginning of each day, as well as when students exit at the completion of the school day. Organize a locker cleanout day in each semester with the assistance of school faculty.
