About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Chesapeake, Virginia, 23320!Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Emergency RoomLocationChesapeake, VA | Acute CareSchedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays required within the contract period | 48-hour contract option available; overtime may be available after 48 hours for those who prefer that arrangementKey ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting with a typical patient ratio of 1:4Manage ratios up to 1:6 when caring for Medical-Surgical hold patientsDeliver 1:1 care for stroke patients until admission or through the tPA treatment window, and for STEMI and cardiac arrest patientsAccurately document and manage patient care using Epic EMRComplete required pre-start orientation modules (approximately 3 hours, completed prior to start date) Pass a required EKG competency test with a minimum score of 80% (one attempt; no remediation available)
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experiencePrevious travel nursing experience requiredActive Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission — no exceptionsProficiency in Epic EMR required — no exceptionsBLS certification (American Heart Association only)ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)PALS certification (American Heart Association only)NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificationTNCC certificationNo prior license or background hits will be considered — no exceptionsFacility cannot accommodate a PAPR; any history of fit test issues will disqualify a candidate — no exceptionsMust live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionPreferred Experience / SkillsExperience managing high-acuity patients including STEMI, cardiac arrest, and stroke protocolsFamiliarity with tPA administration and stroke care workflowsStrong EKG interpretation skills, including interval measurements, rhythm identification, and complex arrhythmia recognitionWhy Join UsWork in a dynamic Emergency Department in the Coastal Virginia region, conveniently located near Virginia Beach and NorfolkGain experience in a structured, high-acuity environment with clearly defined patient ratios and specialty protocols
