About the role

To assure a healthy, functional Hospital environment through the proper operation, control and maintenance of all piped-mechanical systems including: water, sewer, steam, medical gases, compressed air and natural gases. Monthly fire inspections, PM fire systems and or any other duties as directed to maintain compliance. Answer all calls - maintenance. Boiler PM coverage.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Repairs faucets, toilets, traps, kitchen equipment, hot water and steam units, sprinklers, etc. Makes emergency repairs to all piping systems, water, sewer, etc.; repairs high pressure steam lines. Inspects, maintains and repairs medical gases, oxygen, suction, medical air, etc. Performs preventative maintenance and overhaul of valve stems Performs preventative maintenance repair of pumps, water, air, vacuum, etc. Repairs equipment, i.e., sterilizers, autoclaves and bed pan hoppers, etc. Maintains adequate stock of supplies required in assigned tasks Maintains current knowledge of State and local plumbing codes Completes required paperwork properly, using computer technology enhancements, as required; fulfills annual mandatory employee testing. Performs other related duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSEXPERIENCE3-5 yrs. EDUCATIONLess than High School; must read and write EnglishLICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSPlumbing apprenticeship or related trade school training or other directly related experience.
