Role Overview:
This position involves providing cardiopulmonary and mechanical circulatory support in a high-volume, complex hospital environment under supervision. The perfusionist will administer pharmaceuticals, transfuse blood products, and evaluate advanced technological equipment to enhance patient care. Key responsibilities include conducting cardiopulmonary bypass, supporting heart failure and transplant procedures, managing extracorporeal membrane systems and ventricular assist devices, and ensuring patient safety during inter-hospital transport. The role also involves designing and delivering educational programs for staff and students, troubleshooting support devices, and collaborating closely with surgical teams.

Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years experience; 2-5 years preferred for advanced roles
Certifications:
Clinical Perfusionist, Licensed Perfusionist, CPR certification, and provisional or full licensure as applicable
Strong critical thinking, technical troubleshooting, and team collaboration skills
Key DutiesAdminister pharmaceuticals and blood products
Conduct and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary bypass and extracorporeal support devices
Perform dynamic patient transportation involving mechanical support systems
Develop and participate in staff and student education programs
Evaluate and improve technological equipment and support patient safety
