Labor and Delivery Department Houston, Texas. The position supports care for patients receiving antepartum care, continuous Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM), vaginal delivery, cesarean sections, and post-anesthesia care unit recovery. The role provides care on night shifts in a collaborative maternal care setting with 24/7 ancillary support.
Job Details
Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Preferred Qualifications:
Operating room circulation for cesarean sections; placement of fetal scalp electrodes and intrauterine pressure catheters.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities include vaginal delivery, cesarean sections, post-anesthesia care unit recovery, antepartum care and testing, and continuous Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM).Clinical protocols include Pitocin and cervical ripening, magnesium sulfate, hydralazine, and labetalol.
Unit features include wireless fetal monitoring, birthing beds, intravenous pumps, neonatal warmers, and epidural infusion pumps.
Royal blue scrubs are required.
The care team includes anesthesia, neonatal, laborist, and hospitalist services available around the clock.
