A leading inpatient behavioral health hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on providing medical care for patients aged 5 years to geriatric, admitted for psychiatric and substance-use treatment. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial medical assessments and H&Ps within 24 hours of admission
- Provide follow-up care, diagnostics, and discharge planning
- Manage medical needs for inpatient psychiatric patients (ages 5+)Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create integrated treatment plans
- Co-manage patients with complex medical conditions
- Provide medical consultations and recommend diagnostics and treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and wellness strategies
- Deliver emergency care within scope as needed
Qualifications:
- Active Alaska APRN license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
- Board certification
- Prior inpatient or acute care experience preferred
- Behavioral health experience a plus
- New graduates encouraged to apply if clinically strong and interested in behavioral health
