Description:
AtKruse Way Post Acute, we’re dedicated to creating an environment where residents feel connected, engaged, and supported. We believe quality of life is about more than great clinical care. It’s about connection, purpose, choice, and creating meaningful moments every day. We’re looking for a creative, compassionate, and organized Activities Managerto lead our resident activities program. This role is responsible for developing engaging, person-centered programming based on each resident’s interests, abilities, preferences, and needs while helping create a strong sense of community throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess residents’ interests, abilities, preferences, and needs to develop meaningful, individualized activity programs.
Plan and maintain a diverse activities calendar that provides opportunities for socialization, recreation, personal interests, and community involvement.
Create programming for residents with different abilities, backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles, and levels of participation.
Provide opportunities for one-on-one engagement, small group activities, and larger community events.
Develop activities that support residents’ physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
Complete required MDS, CAA, care plan, participation, and activity documentation accurately and timely.
Monitor resident participation and responses and adjust programming and individual activity plans as appropriate.
Partner with nursing, therapy, social services, dietary, and other departments to support resident needs.
Coordinate guest speakers, entertainers, community partners, volunteers, special events, and off-site activities when appropriate.
Support resident and family councils and help ensure resident feedback, preferences, and concerns are communicated to facility leadership.
Develop and maintain community volunteer programs and partnerships.
Manage the department budget, supplies, equipment, calendars, and other activity resources.
Supervise and support Activity Assistants, when applicable.
Help create a welcoming, engaging environment that fosters connection and a true sense of community.

Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to connect easily with residents, families, team members, and community partners.
Creativity and knowledge of a variety of recreational and activity approaches.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Commitment to resident choice, dignity, advocacy, confidentiality, and individual preferences.
Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate programs for a diverse resident population.
Requirements:
Education
BS in Recreation Therapy (preferred), Occupational Therapy, or a human services field; or, Associate degree in human service field, with relevant experience; or, High school diploma with two years of experience in social or recreational programming within the last five years, one of which was fulltime in a patient activity program in a health care setting. Licenses/Certification
Certified Recreation Therapist; or, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant; or, Certified Activity Director (NCCAP or state-specific).Valid driver’s license Experience
Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred. One year in a patient setting in a health care environment required. Experience in management/administrative duties preferred. Ready to Make a Difference?
