Job Description: Warehouse Associate
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Omni Solutions LLC warehouse, including receiving, storing, organizing, tracking, preparing, and distributing company materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. This position assists with inventory control, asset tracking, shipping and receiving, material staging, warehouse organization, equipment operation, and general warehouse maintenance. The Warehouse Associate must maintain a safe and organized work environment and help ensure company materials, tools, and equipment are properly accounted for and available to support field operations.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Storing:
Unload incoming shipments from trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles.
Inspect incoming materials, tools, equipment, and supplies for damage or discrepancies.
Verify deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, shipping documents, or other records.
Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
Label and store materials, tools, and equipment in designated warehouse locations.
Maintain organized and accessible storage areas.
Assist with entering received materials and assets into company inventory or asset-tracking systems.
Inventory & Asset Tracking:
Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records for company materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
Record the movement, assignment, checkout, return, and location of company assets.
Perform routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory and asset audits.
Identify and report inventory discrepancies, missing assets, damaged equipment, or low stock levels.
Move inventory and equipment to designated locations based on project, crew, vehicle, or delivery needs.
Use inventory, asset-management, or logistics software as required.
Assist with ensuring company property is properly labeled and accounted for.
Picking, Packing & Distribution:
Pick materials, tools, equipment, and supplies based on project or field crew requirements.
Prepare and stage materials and equipment for upcoming jobs.
Pack items securely for shipment or transportation.
Properly label and document outgoing materials and equipment.
Load trucks and trailers for delivery to company job sites or other locations.
Verify outgoing materials against appropriate documentation before release.
Assist with receiving returned materials, tools, and equipment from field crews.
Forklift & Equipment Operation:
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other warehouse equipment as authorized.
Move, load, unload, stack, and organize materials and equipment.
Perform basic pre-use inspections of warehouse equipment.
Report equipment damage, malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately.
Maintain required forklift training and company authorization.
Warehouse Organization & Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Keep exits, loading areas, workspaces, and storage locations clear and accessible.
Assist with cleaning and general warehouse maintenance.
Help maintain designated locations for tools, equipment, inventory, PPE, and supplies.
Assist with minor maintenance and basic mechanical tasks when qualified and directed.
Help identify tools or equipment requiring repair or replacement.
SafetyFollow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Follow proper lifting, material-handling, and equipment-operation procedures.
Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, property damage, or equipment concerns.
Assist with maintaining a safe and secure warehouse environment.
Field & Operational Support:
Assist with delivering or retrieving tools, equipment, materials, and supplies when needed.
Support field crews with material and equipment needs.
Assist with loading and unloading company vehicles and trailers.
Travel to job sites, vendors, or other company locations as needed.
Some travel may be required depending on company and project needs, including occasional overnight hotel stays.
General Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the project managers, field personnel, and other employees.
Complete assigned warehouse tasks accurately and efficiently.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Follow established procedures for company inventory and assets.
Assist with special projects, inventory counts, warehouse reorganizations, and other operational needs.
Perform other warehouse and operational duties reasonably related to the position as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous warehouse, construction, telecommunications, inventory, logistics, or related experience preferred.
Basic mechanical knowledge or experience preferred.
Forklift experience preferred; company-approved training or certification may be required.
Ability to operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory and asset-tracking software.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Valid driver's license required.
Clean driving record and ability to remain an approved company driver required.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed, including occasional overnight travel.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, push, and pull as required.
Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials, tools, and equipment consistent with the requirements of the position.
Ability to safely operate warehouse and material-handling equipment.
Ability to work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
Ability to load and unload trucks and trailers.
The Warehouse Associate is expected to demonstrate reliability, organization, attention to detail, safety awareness, and accountability for company property while supporting efficient warehouse and field operations.
