We are seeking a Construction Assistant Superintendent to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from mobilisation through completion. Working closely with the Superintendent and project management team, you will help coordinate daily site activities, monitor progress, and ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who is organised, proactive, and eager to develop their leadership capabilities in a fast-paced site environment. Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation and coordination of daily work plans, reviewing drawings and specifications, and communicating sequencing requirements to subcontractors and field personnel. You will help supervise site operations, track labour, materials, equipment, and deliveries, and identify potential delays or conflicts before they affect the programme. The role also involves attending coordination meetings, maintaining accurate site records, supporting inspections, monitoring workmanship, and assisting with the resolution of technical or logistical issues. You will contribute to site safety activities by reinforcing safe work practices, supporting toolbox talks, reporting hazards, and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and project procedures. Additional duties may include reviewing subcontractor performance, assisting with progress reporting, and supporting project closeout activities. Applicants should have experience in commercial, industrial, residential, or civil construction, ideally with exposure to a supervisory or coordination role. A relevant qualification in construction management, engineering, building, or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent practical experience will be considered. You should be able to interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and method statements, and demonstrate a sound understanding of construction processes, quality control, and health and safety requirements. Strong communication, problem-solving, time-management, and organisational skills are essential, together with the ability to work collaboratively and maintain professional relationships across the project team. Proficiency with common construction management and office software is advantageous, as is a valid driving licence and willingness to work on active construction sites.
