Blast Room OperatorNational Peening in Salem, VA is part of the Sinto America Group of companies, the North American subsidiary of Sintokogio, Ltd., a worldwide family of companies with a global reputation for excellence in the manufacturing industry.Sinto America offers innovative, top-class solutions to meet the needs of our customers and industries, with operating companies dedicated to providing superior customer service through practical, cost effective and technologically advanced equipment and service solutions across North America.Sinto America is comprised of six primary segments, including Foundry Mold and Core Making, Sand Processing, Bulk Material Handling, Automation, Surface Treatment, and Surface Technologies.Sinto America Surface Technologies provides precision shot peening, blasting and cleaning services through its National Peening and Technical Metal Finishing divisions.National Peening is currently seeking a Blast Room Operator to join our Team in Salem, VA.What You Will DoPerform operation of blast room elements including pressure pot, elevator screw auger assembly and controls for same.Trouble shoot operation problems with blast room.You will wear special protective clothing including fresh air supplied enclosed helmet and cape, full coveralls, heavy leather long cuff welding gloves shall be worn in the blast room. Protective clothing will be worn in addition to steel toed leather work shoes, long pants and work shirt.Additional duties include pressure washing, assembly/disassembly of chassis dollies, burn off oven operation, peening machine operation as instructed.What We Want From YouMinimum of High School diploma and/or equivalent.Ability to read and write proficiently.Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Ability to analyze and resolve basic problems. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, extremes of heat and cold, and risk of electrical shock.
