About the role

Company Description: Sarale Wigs is a high-end custom wig studio based in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. We don't make wigs the way everyone else does. Every wig is built by hand, customized to the client's face, and finished to a standard most people have never seen up close. Our clients come from across the country — and they come back. We have 30,000 Instagram followers, a reel with over 1.5 million views, and a product that genuinely sells itself when people see it. What we're missing is someone who knows how to make sure people see it — consistently, creatively, and in a way that feels like us.
THE ROLE: We're looking for a Social Media & Content Creator to own our Instagram and TikTok presence. This is not a job for someone who schedules posts and calls it a day. We need someone who thinks strategically, creates with intention, and is genuinely excited about building something. You'll be working directly with Sarale to translate her craft, her process, and her brand into content that stops the scroll. We have raw footage that has never been posted. We have a new website launching in January. We have a story worth telling — we just need someone who knows how to tell it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: Develop and own a content strategy for Instagram and TikTok — not just what to post, but why, when, and how it builds toward something. Create, edit, and publish short-form video content — Reels, TikToks, Stories — that captures the craftsmanship, the process, and the personality of the brand. Work with existing raw footage and create new content during studio visits. Write captions that sound like Sarale — warm, confident, direct. Not corporate, not generic. Monitor performance and adjust. Know when something is working and when to pivot. Source and coordinate brand collaborations — clothing, jewelry, lifestyle — that elevate the aesthetic. Coordinate with the website launch (January 2027) to drive traffic and build awareness at go-live. Eventually: manage email marketing campaigns and SMS, once those systems are in place.
WHO YOU ARE: This role is not for a generalist. We're looking for someone specific. You understand luxury aesthetics intuitively. You don't need to be told what looks expensive and what doesn't. You're inventive. You're not copying what everyone else is doing — you're figuring out what's next. You have taste. You express yourself visually in your own life. Your feed, your style, your eye — it shows. You're hungry. You want to build something, not just fill a role. You care about whether it works. You understand how to build an audience — not just create content. There's a difference. You can take a brand that already has a strong identity and amplify it, not reinvent it. You are self-directed. You don't need someone to tell you what to post every week. You don't need a formal marketing degree. You need a portfolio that proves you get it. If your own social presence is strong, send it. If you've done this for another brand, show us the results. WHAT YOU DON'T NEED TO BEYou don't need to know anything about the wig industry. What matters is taste, strategy, and execution. You don't need to be based in Brooklyn — most of this work is remote. Studio visits are occasionally needed for content creation. You don't need a huge following of your own, but you need to understand what makes one grow. COMPENSATIONThis role is structured as a base + performance model. We believe the right person should be rewarded when the work actually drives results — not just for showing up. Base: flat monthly retainer (amount based on scope and experience — to be discussed) Performance bonuses tied to: follower growth milestones, engagement rate benchmarks, lead conversions from social, and content quality as agreed at start of each quarter The base protects you. The performance structure means your ceiling is higher than a flat fee. We are not looking for someone to post filler content and invoice us. We are looking for someone invested in the results — because when the brand wins, you win too. THE HIRING PROCESSBefore we make any long-term commitment, we will ask finalists to complete a paid trial project. Here's how it works: We share brand materials, existing content, and the website brief with you. You build a social media strategy: what you'd focus on, how you'd approach the first 90 days, and one sample content concept executed. You get paid for this work regardless of whether we hire you. We use this to see how you think — not whether you can fill in a template. If you're not willing to do a paid trial project, this role probably isn't the right fit.
HOW TO APPLY: Send the following to A brief introduction — who you are and why this role makes sense for you specifically. Your portfolio or examples of social media work you've done for a brand (not just personal content).Your own social media handle(s), if relevant. Your rate expectations. We read every application. We respond to the ones that show you actually read this posting.
