Join a Portland Print Team That Values Craft and Reliability Be part of a locally owned business communications leader with a close‐knit, structured environment. If you love the rhythm of production, take pride in precision, and thrive on meeting deadlines as a team, this role is for you.
A day in the life:
(Mon–Fri, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.)You clock in, review the production queue, and bring multiple high‐speed digital presses online—Canon and Konica Minolta among them. You stage stocks, confirm job tickets, and check color calibration. As jobs run in parallel, you offload neatly, keep order intact, and move stacks to the cutter. When output drifts, you make smart adjustments to keep throughput optimized and quality rock‐solid. You log routine maintenance, flag any mechanical issues, and keep the workflow aligned with LEAN practices. Midday, you collaborate with customer service on priorities, fine‐tune a file in Adobe InDesign or Illustrator for print‐readiness, and ensure brand standards are consistent across pieces. You might prep variable data for a mailing run, or pivot to large format using a Canon imagePROGRAF, and occasionally assist where needed on a Ricoh flatbed or flexo press. By 4:00 p.m., you've met quantity targets without sacrificing quality—and the team is ready for tomorrow. What you'll handle Simultaneously operate multiple high‐speed printers (Canon, Konica Minolta, and others) across concurrent projects Hit quantity goals and deadlines while maintaining strict quality standards Offload output and load materials onto cutters while preserving exact sequence Tweak equipment settings to ensure optimal throughput and consistency Escalate mechanical issues to the right contacts promptly Set up, operate, and complete routine maintenance on production equipment Follow LEAN manufacturing principles throughout production Prepare print‐ready artwork; make minor design and formatting adjustments for professional results Safeguard brand consistency across all designed materials Coordinate with customer service and production teams for scheduling and prioritization Support a Design Specialist with template formatting/editing using Adobe Creative Suite
