Substitute Bus Attendant Are you looking for a flexible schedule that fits around your life while making a meaningful impact in your local community? Mechanicville City School District is continuously seeking patient, dependable, and safety-minded individuals to join our Transportation Department as Substitute Bus Attendants. In this role, you will work alongside our bus drivers to ensure students, including those with specialized needs, have a safe, supportive, and comfortable ride to and from school each day.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure student safety: Assist students with safely boarding, seating, and exiting the bus.
Specialized support: Help secure wheelchairs, seatbelts, harness systems, and child safety restraint seats as needed.
Maintain a positive environment: Monitor student behavior during transit, promote safe habits, and assist the driver in maintaining a calm atmosphere.
Emergency assistance: Help execute emergency evacuation drills and assist students in the event of an emergency.
Student care: Provide individual attention and support to students with special physical, medical, or behavioral needs
