Website: www.scalecontentinc.comAbout the RoleScale Content Inc. is looking for an experienced News Producer to lead the development of original video coverage across news, politics, and current affairs. The ideal candidate will have strong editorial judgment, an instinct for compelling stories, and the ability to turn ideas into well-researched, engaging long-form segments. This person will lead coverage planning, oversee segments from concept through publication, and work closely with anchors, correspondents, producers, bookers, writers, and editors. The role also includes building and mentoring the editorial team, planning coverage around major events, and using audience insights to strengthen programming and performance.
Key Responsibilities: Lead forward planning and set daily and weekend coverage priorities. Identify and research strong stories, angles, soundbites, visuals, and emerging trends. Pitch and develop original long-form segments, including news analysis, interviews, and explainers. Manage each segment from research and scripting through production, editing, and publication. Build and manage a booking team responsible for securing newsmakers, political figures, analysts, and subject-matter experts. Recruit and manage correspondents, assigning stories and guiding their reporting, research, interviews, and on-camera delivery. Hire, mentor, and develop producers, bookers, correspondents, presenters, and other editorial staff. Work with anchors and on-camera talent on scripts, interviews, story development, and segment preparation. Monitor breaking news, adjust coverage as stories develop, and maintain the forward editorial calendar. Adapt long-form segments into clips and platform-specific content for social channels. Use watch time, retention, reach, and engagement data to guide editorial and production decisions. Improve newsroom workflows and production efficiency while maintaining high editorial standards.
What You Will Need: Strong experience producing digital news, political analysis, interviews, explainers, or field reporting. Excellent editorial judgment and a strong understanding of politics, current affairs, and the news cycle. A proven ability to identify stories and develop them into compelling long-form video segments. Strong research, writing, script-editing, communication, and organizational skills. Experience working with anchors, correspondents, guests, bookers, producers, and video editors. Experience hiring, managing, and mentoring editorial or production teams. A clear understanding of YouTube programming, audience retention, packaging, and performance analytics. An established network of correspondents, contributors, experts, or production professionals is a strong advantage. Flexibility to respond to breaking news and major events.
