The Connecticut Department of Administrative Services seeks a Professional Engineer – Mechanical to provide technical review and oversight of the state's building construction projects, with over $1B in active design and construction underway. The role involves reviewing plans and specifications from external engineers, leading multidisciplinary technical reviews of mechanical systems, and developing standardized engineering design requirements while advancing the state's sustainability and decarbonization goals. This is a full‑time, 40-hour hybrid position reporting to the Real Estate and Construction Services division.
Key qualifications:
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license from Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection
Eight years of experience as a project engineer with full responsibility for engineering design of major building projects
Considerable knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and building construction methods
Strong ability to analyze and review engineering reports, plans, and specifications
Experience with mechanical and plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings
Experience using Bluebeam Revu for document review
