About Us:
The Pleasure Practice is a company founded by Dr. Nicole Thompson, a queer, non-monogamous, feminist Clinical Psychotherapist and host of the Modern Anarchy Podcast, currently ranking in the top 5% of podcasts globally. Rooted in the emerging framework of Pleasure Liberation Psychology, Dr. Nicole's work brings together clinical psychology, sexuality research, feminist theory, and embodied practice to challenge conventional narratives about sex, relationships, and pleasure. Through individual and relationship sessions, transformative group programs, academic scholarship, and a globally recognized podcast with over one million plays, The Pleasure Practice is building a new paradigm for how we understand pleasure, intimacy, and liberation. As our platform continues to grow, we're looking for a creative, organized, and proactive PR & Media Outreach Coordinator to help bring this work into larger conversations.
About the Role:
The PR & Media Outreach Coordinator will support the expansion of Dr. Nicole's public presence through strategic podcast pitching, media outreach, relationship-building, and publicity coordination. We're looking for someone who enjoys discovering opportunities, crafting compelling pitches, making meaningful connections, and helping important ideas reach wider audiences. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to contribute creatively to the growth of an independent, values-driven media and education platform.
Key Responsibilities
Podcast & Media Outreach:
Research and identify podcasts, publications, journalists, and media platforms aligned with Dr. Nicole's expertise.
Develop personalized pitches to secure guest appearances, interviews, and media features.
Manage outreach communications, follow-ups, and booking coordination.
Identify timely cultural conversations and emerging media opportunities related to sexuality, non-monogamy, psychology, and relationships.
Public Relations & Brand Visibility:
Support the execution of a strategic publicity plan to expand Dr. Nicole's visibility as a clinical psychotherapist, researcher, and thought leader.
Research speaking engagements, conferences, collaborations, and other opportunities for public education.
Build and maintain relationships with podcast producers, journalists, creators, and aligned organizations.
Assist with distributing press materials, media kits, and relevant research.
Communications & Coordination:
- Maintain an organized database of media contacts, pitches, responses, and confirmed opportunities.
- Coordinate interview logistics and communicate professionally with external partners.
- Track outreach performance and provide brief weekly updates on progress, opportunities, and next steps.
- Collaborate directly with Dr. Nicole to refine messaging and identify strategic opportunities.

- Preferred, but not required:
- Experience in public relations, communications, journalism, podcast booking, or media outreach.
- Familiarity with media databases, outreach platforms, and CRM tools.
- Experience supporting a founder, author, researcher, or public-facing professional.
- Knowledge of the sexuality, wellness, psychology, or relationship education industries.
