Reporting To: Director of Integrated MarketingPOSITION SUMMARY:John Hardy is looking for a digitally savvy Social Media Specialist who lives and breathes social culture—someone who knows what’s gaining momentum, understands why people engage, and sees the conversations a brand should be part of. In this role, you will partner with the marketing and creative teams to bring John Hardy’s laid-back luxury positioning to life across our social channels, combining compelling storytelling with active, thoughtful community management. You’ll own daily publishing and audience engagement, help shape the content calendar, and partner closely with Creative and Marketing to develop content that feels relevant, distinctive, and native to each platform. You’re equal parts creative thinker, community builder, and organized executor. You have a strong point of view on social and an instinct for emerging trends. From a compelling Reel to a personal reply in the DMs, you understand that every interaction is an opportunity to build connection. ROLE SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:Social Content & Channel Management Own the day-to-day management of John Hardy’s social channels, ensuring a consistent brand voice and an engaging presence across platforms. Partner with Marketing to author the social content calendar, connecting brand campaigns, product launches, cultural moments, and ongoing storytelling. Partner with Creative to develop content that feels native to each platform, contributing ideas, references, hooks, captions, and actionable feedback. Own scheduling, publishing, and quality control, ensuring every post is accurate, timely, and optimized for its platform. Identify emerging trends, formats, creators, and conversations, translating relevant opportunities into timely content ideas. Help capture and create spontaneous content, including behind-the-scenes moments and short-form video, in partnership with Creative. Support social strategies that grow awareness, attract new followers, deepen engagement, and encourage product discovery.
Community Management: Be the daily voice of John Hardy’s social community, responding to comments, DMs, mentions, and tags with warmth, personality, and care. Proactively participate in relevant conversations with customers, creators, and brand communities to build relationships and expand visibility. Partner with Client Care to resolve customer questions, escalate sensitive issues, and ensure timely follow-through. Surface recurring questions, audience feedback, and emerging sentiment to inform content, messaging, and the customer experience. Identify opportunities to feature community content and customer stories, coordinating permissions and approvals with the appropriate teams.
Insights & Optimization: Partner with marketing to track performance against social KPIs and deliver clear weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting with actionable recommendations. Look beyond the numbers to understand what makes content resonate, using audience insights to improve future storytelling. Test new formats, posting approaches, and engagement tactics, sharing learnings and applying them to the content calendar. Monitor platform updates and audience behavior to strengthen reach and performance. Stay close to the competitive landscape and broader social culture, bringing fresh thinking and relevant examples to the team. DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:3+ years of hands-on experience in social media and community management for a consumer brand. A deep personal interest in social media, with a strong understanding of platform culture, audience behavior, and emerging content formats. Experience in fashion, jewelry, beauty, luxury, or lifestyle preferred. A track record of creating engaging content, growing audiences, and building active social communities. Excellent writing skills, with the ability to bring a brand voice to life through captions, comments, and one-to-one conversations. Strong creative instincts and an eye for compelling imagery, short-form video, and storytelling. Comfort capturing and editing content on a phone; familiarity with tools such as CapCut, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Experience with social publishing and analytics tools such as Sprout Social, along with project management tools such as Asana. Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to timely opportunities. Sound judgment when engaging publicly, handling customer concerns, and identifying issues that require escalation. A collaborative approach, with the ability to communicate clearly, give constructive feedback, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
