Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Critical Care Float Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel ```htmlJob Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio Start Date: November 16, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Weekend day shifts plus one weekday shift per week; float assignment based on unit needs and patient acuity Highlights: Dynamic float pool experience across multiple critical care environments including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity based on clinical expertise and staffing needs EPIC charting system utilized across all units Interdisciplinary support from Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams Advanced critical care procedures including transplant care (kidney, liver, lung, heart), ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring Travel experience required; local candidates accepted at the same rate Requirements: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system required Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management Skills in arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive drip titration, blood product administration, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This Critical Care Float Pool position offers registered nurses the chance to expand their clinical expertise across a diverse range of intensive care environments while providing life-saving care to critically ill patients.
