To ensure optimal performance and security of IT systems, the full-time remote System Engineer II will design, configure, and maintain infrastructure while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, actively monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, and implementing automation for efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
Design and implement systems to meet performance, scalability, availability, and security requirements
Monitor system health and performance metrics, optimizing configurations for increased efficiency
Troubleshoot complex system issues and assist junior engineers in their development
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
2-5 years of experience in system administration, engineering, or infrastructure support
Advanced proficiency with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies like VMware
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash
Familiarity with security protocols, networking concepts, and backup/recovery solutions
