Staff Product Designer, Monetization

Overview In this role you will shape the user experience across Duolingo’s monetization surfaces, influencing how value is delivered to users—from free to paid experiences. You will lead the Monetization design team’s roadmap and collaborate with engineers and product managers to set strategy and tactics. You’ll partner with designers and artists to evolve the design language and work on both broad concepts and tactical features. This is a mission-driven, fast-paced role where your work impacts growth, retention, and revenue while keeping the user experience delightful. Responsibilities Define and evolve free and paid user experiences across Monetization surfaces Lead the Monetization design team in shaping product roadmap and development Partner with engineers and product managers to define long-term strategy and short-term tactics Collaborate with designers and artists to expand the Duolingo design language Tackle both broad concepts and tactical features, considering copy, animation, and business impact Key requirements Online portfolio with consumer mobile app or web design samples Design experience in a consumer application, product, or software role Attention to detail and pursuit of excellence Ability to explain work, process, and decisions and seek feedbackstrong communicationcollaborative mindsetability to iterate based on feedback Monetization design for growth or subscription-based products Experience with experimentation culture and iterative improvements Design craft and visual storytelling
