Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (day shift)Hours/Week: 40

Experience:
Minimum 3 years working with pediatric populations in a medical center setting; pediatric residency highly preferred

What You'll Do:
Provide pediatric eye exams, including assessments for complex cases such as strabismus and binocular vision Support staff with diagnostic imaging and workups Perform contact lens fittings, including complex pediatric fittings when needed Manage a high volume of pediatric patients—approximately 12-14 patients daily Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other specialists for patient care Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and patient management Support patients across all cognitive abilities, including those on spectrum or with developmental delays Participate in patient education and treatment planning Conduct follow-up visits and comprehensive assessments as required
What You Need:
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree Minimum 3 years of experience with pediatric populations in a medical setting; residency in pediatric optometry preferredCA state licensure Current BLS certification Experience with complex pediatric cases, binocular vision, and strabismus exams Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment About the Assignment This outpatient pediatric optometry assignment at a well-equipped hospital facility involves managing high-acuity pediatric cases, including children with developmental challenges and spectrum disorders. The department is fully staffed with diagnostic and imaging technology, supporting comprehensive eye care and patient management.
