About the role

BCP-Field Service TechnicianHolt CAT in North Little Elm, Texas is seeking an experienced BCP-Field Service Technician. This position is responsible for providing high-quality repair service on Compact Construction Equipment in a field environment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed. Worked to be performed will be on equipment such as mini-excavators, skid steers, compactors, and other similar equipment. Must have a safe driving record, must be able to pass a DOT Physical. Caterpillar dirt machine repair experience preferred - skid steer, mini-x, loaders, etc...
Essential Functions: Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsPerforms repairs and troubleshooting offsite with minimal supervisionPerforms moderate troubleshooting and advanced diagnoses of equipment malfunctions and failuresRemoves and installs parts, disassembles and assembles componentsTests, makes adjustments, and verifies proper operation of all repairs and adjustmentsPrepares and completes all job related documents, writes service reports, orders parts, and maintains clear customer records; in addition, accesses databases required to complete jobOperates equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificatesMaintains service vehicle inspection records, daily inspections and driver logs as required by the Department of TransportationAdheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulationsMaintains all company equipment, tools, and vehicle in a good, clean, and working orderCommunicates job progress to supervisor and customer as neededCompletes assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate time and re-work standardsWorks overtime as required by workload and customers' needsCompletes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training in a timely and proficient mannerProjects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance; may be relied upon to act as a mentor to lower level TechniciansRequires regular and punctual employee attendancePerforms other duties as assignedThe incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business valuesCollaborate with key internal/external resourcesParticipate in ongoing self-developmentKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of safe work procedures and practicesKnowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceModerate knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, engines, undercarriage, and electricalDemonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and basic knowledge of machine electronic systems - CAT ET & CAT SIS 2.0Exceptional customer service skillsAdvanced diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills - diesel engines, hydraulics, aftertreatment and electrical systems, and undercarriagePlanning and organizing skills to prioritize and plan work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resourcesOperation and control skills of equipment or systemsEquipment selection skills to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a jobAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to operate a crane and forklift, and obtain required certifications/licensesAbility to meet deadlines and work under fast-paced, time constraining circumstancesAbility to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repairThe ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objectsRequirementsEducation and Experience:
