Description: Registered Veterinary Technician San Jose Animal Hospital San Jose, CA
Pay: $27-32/hour. The final pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM No weekends!
About You: You’re a caring, dependable RVT who brings strong technical skills and a positive attitude. You’re excited to provide everyday primary care while also assisting with urgent cases, building your skills, taking on new challenges, and making a meaningful difference for pets and their families.
Responsibilities: Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house diagnostics Surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery Dentistry, including dental radiographs and technical support within RVT scope of practice Medication preparation and administration Diagnostic radiographs Fear Free/low-stress patient handling Accurate and timely medical-record documentation Client education and communication Supporting DVMs with appointments, treatments, procedures, and hospitalized patients Recognizing changes in patient condition and communicating concerns promptly Prioritizing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Collaborating with the team and utilizing available support to maintain efficient workflow
Qualifications: Current California RVT license is required At least 1 year of experience working as an RVT preferred Strong technical skills and sound clinical judgment Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and patient safety Comfortable with routine GP care as well as urgent and more involved cases Strong communication and teamwork Reliable, accountable, and receptive to feedback Ability to integrate into established hospital workflows while contributing thoughtful ideas for improvement Fear Free certification or experience preferred, but not required You’ll Grow with Us Here, you can grow your career as best fits you through access to comprehensive learning and skillset programs.
