Machine Operator - Weekend Shift

Machine Operator Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Machine Operators for a leading machine manufacturing company located in Alexandria, MN. What You'll Do as a Machine Operator: Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine operating requirements Mount work piece between center in chuck or in collet Press buttons, toggles, and start machining operation Observe displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments Perform spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications per instruction on in-process Operate an additional machine during computer-controlled machining cycles Machine metallic and nonmetallic materials Mark and/or tag nonconforming material and place them in nonconforming hold designated areas Tag and/or mark completed material and move product to appropriate areas Watch and check coolant fluid levels during machine operation What You Need to Bring to the Machine Operator Role: High school diploma or GED + 1–3 months of related experience and/or on the job training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’sAbility to apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations Why You'll Like Working with Doherty Staffing Solutions Enjoy weekly pay, access to health coverage options through Benefits in a Card (including preventative and minimum value plans), and temp-to-hire opportunities for long-term stability where applicable.
