The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and upgrading of DB2 and related software products, including middleware. This role involves troubleshooting subsystem problems, customizing software to meet user needs, and participating in the communication, scheduling, and coordination of changes, requests, and incidents.The candidate will also be expected to initiate and participate in Proofs of Concept for new technologies, as well as engage in disaster recovery and other mainframe exercises. A key aspect of the position is the ability to work after normal business hours and on weekends to perform software upgrades and provide 24X7 coverage and support. Applicants for this role at The Company should have a strong z/OS Mainframe Systems Programming background, including SMPE, and senior-level knowledge of DB2 and DB2 Data Sharing.Experience in working with vendors to resolve software and systems issues, as well as the installation and maintenance of DB2 program product installations, is essential. The role requires the ability to provide coverage for DB2 and product installations, with a willingness to work weekends. Strong knowledge of REXX programming, experience with performance/monitoring products, and skills in DB2 Connect on LUW are highly valued.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience, with an advanced degree being preferred, and 5-10 years of related infrastructure experience, particularly in the securities or financial services industry.FunctionsInformation Technology
