This Grant Specialist position will work primarily with the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship in Special Education initiative of REACH MS, the State Personnel Development Grant. This person will coordinate and support the development of high-quality Special Education Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Programs by providing training, coaching, and technical assistance to educator preparation programs, districts, mentors, and workforce partners across the state of Mississippi. This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent on grant funding. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B).
Job Summary: The Grant Specialist I provides training, coaching, technical assistance, andimplementation support for state and federally funded grant initiatives. Working under the direction of the Project Director, this position assists withimplementation of project activities by delivering evidence-based professionallearning, supporting implementation fidelity, collecting and utilizing data toguide continuous improvement, and collaborating with participating schools, districts, and project partners. The Grant Specialist I supports projectimplementation, reporting, dissemination, and evaluation activities whileensuring compliance with university, state, and federal grant requirements. Theposition requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, collaborationwith diverse stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilitieswhile traveling extensively throughout the state.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Delivers evidence-based professional learning, technical assistance, coaching, and consultation to educators and other participants using established implementation frameworks, coaching models, and project procedures. Supports implementation of state and federally funded grant initiatives by assisting schools, districts, and partner organizations in implementing evidence-based practices with fidelity. Assists participants with collecting, analyzing, and utilizing implementation, fidelity, and outcome data to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with educators, administrators, families, community partners, and other project stakeholders and assists with the planning and coordination of meetings, trainings, conferences, and other project activities. Collects, organizes, and maintains project documentation, implementation records, participation data, and other required information and assists with preparing reports, presentations, dissemination materials, and grant deliverables. Completes assigned activities in accordance with project timelines and university, state, federal, and sponsor policies, procedures, and grant requirements and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Master'sdegree from an accredited college or university in education, specialeducation, behavioral sciences, psychology, counseling, social work, or arelated field; two (2) years of experience providing educational, behavioral, instructional, or related services in PK-12 educational settings; and acurrent, valid Mississippi teaching license or eligibility to obtain Mississippi teaching licensure within six (6) months of employment; ORBachelor's degree from anaccredited college or university in a related field with either National Board Certification or evidence of substantial, recent, and relevant professionallearning, such as micro-credentials or certificate programs; five (5) years ofdirectly related professional experience in PK-12 educational settings; and acurrent, valid Mississippi teaching license or eligibility to obtain Mississippi teaching licensure within six (6) months of employment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of evidence-based instructional, behavioral, and implementation practices. Ability to develop and deliver effective professional learning, coaching, and technical assistance. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with educators, administrators, community partners, and project stakeholders. Strong organizational, project coordination, and time management skills. Ability to analyze implementation and outcome data to support continuous improvement. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and travel schedules. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace, learning management systems, virtual meeting platforms, and other technology used to support grant implementation.
Preferred Qualifications: Master'sdegree in special education, education, behavioral sciences, psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field. Three (3) or more years of relatedexperience in PK-12 educational settings, including at least two (2) yearsdelivering professional learning, technical assistance, or coaching toeducators. Experience implementing evidence-based educational or schoolimprovement initiatives, supporting state or federally funded grants, utilizingimplementation or outcome data for continuous improvement, and usinginstructional technology to support professional learning.
