About the role

AdSerts is looking for an experienced Senior Digital Marketing Director to strengthen the strategy, analytics and performance marketing capabilities we provide our clients. This is a senior-level position for someone who understands that successful marketing isn’t about managing individual channels or simply reporting numbers. It’s about understanding the client’s full business and marketing strategy, knowing how the pieces work together, digging into performance and using those insights to recommend what happens next. The right person will bring a strong combination of retail knowledge, B2B and B2C expertise, digital strategy, analytics, business thinking and leadership. They will work across client accounts and alongside our account, creative and digital teams to strengthen strategy, uncover opportunities and continually improve results.
What You’ll Do:
  • Lead digital strategy across key retail, B2B and B2C client accounts
  • Understand each client’s full business and marketing strategy—their objectives, customer segments, products and services, sales process, competitive environment and complete marketing ecosystem
  • Develop strategies for both B2B and B2C audiences, understanding that homeowners, contractors, builders, dealers and commercial customers require different approaches
  • Connect digital strategy with traditional advertising, promotions, creative, sales initiatives, in-store activity and broader business objectives
  • Take a hands-on, strategic role in Google Ads, GA4 and Google’s broader advertising and analytics ecosystem
  • Analyze campaign, website, lead, customer and sales performance to understand what’s actually happening and identify opportunities
  • Look beyond surface-level metrics to determine why performance changed and what we should do about itUnderstand lead generation and conversion, including which campaigns, channels, services and customer segments are producing meaningful opportunities
  • Identify gaps in tracking, attribution and reporting and develop better ways to measure marketing effectiveness
  • Turn analytics into clear, actionable recommendations—not simply observations
  • Proactively bring ideas, opportunities and recommendations to account teams, agency leadership and clients
  • Oversee paid search, paid social, display/programmatic, SEO, email, website performance and other digital channels
  • Stay ahead of changes in search, AI, consumer behavior, attribution, digital advertising and the evolving retail media landscape
  • Present strategy, results and recommendations directly to clients
  • Mentor and develop members of the digital marketing team, helping them become stronger analysts, strategists and client partners
  • How We Think About Analytics
At AdSerts, reporting isn’t about handing a client a dashboard or telling them impressions, clicks and conversions went up or down. We want our analytics and strategy to tell a story: What happened → why we think it happened → whether it affected leads → which services, campaigns or channels are producing opportunity → what AdSerts did about it → what we’re doing next. The job isn’t finished when the report is delivered. The report should help determine the next move.
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of digital marketing experience, ideally within retail, B2B, ecommerce, multi-location businesses or agency environments
  • Current Google certifications are required, with demonstrated professional-level expertise in Google Ads and Google Analytics/GA4Significant hands-on experience managing and optimizing Google Ads, including paid search, Performance Max, display and other applicable campaign types
  • Advanced working knowledge of GA4, conversion tracking, Google Tag Manager and digital measurement
  • Ability to troubleshoot tracking and measurement issues rather than simply relying on dashboards or third-party reporting
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategies for both B2B and B2C customer segments
  • Strong understanding of how strategy, messaging, media and measurement differ between consumer and professional/trade audiences
  • Ability to understand a client’s entire business and marketing strategy, not simply the digital channels being managed
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to move from data → insight → recommendation → action
  • Experience analyzing lead generation, conversion performance, customer journeys and marketing attribution
  • Ability to identify which products, services, audiences and marketing channels are driving meaningful business opportunities
  • Strong presentation and client communication skills
  • Experience mentoring and developing other marketers
  • Naturally curious and willing to dig deeper when the first answer isn’t enough
What Will Make Someone Stand OutWe’ll be especially interested in candidates who have worked with hardware, home improvement, building materials, lumber, farm & ranch, outdoor, construction, dealer networks, multi-location retail or similar industries. Experience marketing to multiple audiences—such as homeowners and DIYers alongside contractors, builders, dealers, commercial customers and other professional segments—would be particularly valuable. Experience with retail media networks, CRM/customer segmentation, ecommerce analytics, lead generation, local search, marketing automation, AI-driven search and advanced measurement/attribution is also a plus. The Person We’re Looking ForYou’re curious. You ask questions. You dig deeper. If traffic is up but leads are down, you want to know why. If leads are up, you want to know where they’re coming from and whether they’re the right leads. If one service or customer segment is generating significantly more opportunity than another, you see that as something the strategy should respond to. You understand that analytics aren’t the end product. They’re information we use to make better marketing decisions. You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room, but you do need to be comfortable leading the conversation, questioning assumptions and recommending what should happen next. Most importantly, you take ownership. You don’t just tell us what happened. You help us understand why it happened, what it means and what we’re going to do about it. About AdSertsAdSerts is an established, independent advertising and marketing agency based in Brookfield, Wisconsin. For more than 45 years, we’ve helped businesses grow through smart strategy, strong creative and marketing that works in the real world. Our team works closely together, our leadership is accessible and our clients rely on us as an extension of their businesses. We’re looking for someone who can bring significant digital, retail, B2B and B2C expertise to that environment—and help us continue raising the level of strategy, analytics and results we provide our clients.
