Biltmore House Maintenance Support Staff II - Flex

Requirements: High school diploma. Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred. At least two (2) years of previous maintenance experience required. The preferred candidate will have three (3) years of experience, including working with historic structures. Must have prior experience with repair/maintenance for carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical systems. Trade certifications and/or licenses are preferred. Strong planning, organizational, project and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on quality. Ability to be proactive and take initiative as well as work effectively both individually and as part of a team. Ability to take direction and understand and execute instructions successfully. Ability to operate various equipment, tools, and machinery. Should be comfortable with responding to guest questions and requests in a manner consistent with Biltmore standards. Must have a valid driver's license, be at least 19 years of age, and have a clean driving record for the past three years.

Essential Job Duties: Repair work on the plumbing system in Biltmore House and other historic structures. Basic electrical repairs. Perform basic carpentry skills. Set up and break down Special Projects. Follow all safety rules and regulations.

Moving Collections Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds on a regular basis with assistance. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and/or scaffolding. Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat/kneel. Ability to work both inside and outdoors in all types of weather conditions with fluctuations in temperature.
