Walker Furniture is looking for a skilled and customer-focused Furniture Service Technician to join our growing team! As a Furniture Service Technician, you'll bring your craftsmanship and problem-solving skills directly to our customers. You'll travel throughout an assigned service area, visiting homes and businesses to inspect, diagnose, repair, restore, assemble, and service a wide variety of furniture. Every day brings something different-and every successful repair is an opportunity to make a customer's experience a great one. This is more than a repair job. You'll be the face of Walker Furniture in our customers' homes, using your technical skills and attention to detail to find solutions and deliver quality workmanship they can see and appreciate. You'll work with everything from wood furniture and case goods to upholstery, leather, fabric, motion furniture, and recliners, performing both warranty and non-warranty repairs. Whether you're restoring a finish, repairing a frame, correcting an upholstery issue, or diagnosing a mechanical problem, you'll use your knowledge, creativity, and craftsmanship to get the job done right. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in their work. You should enjoy working independently, interacting with customers, and tackling new challenges every day. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in furniture repair, woodworking, upholstery, cabinetry, or a related mechanical service field preferred. Working knowledge of furniture construction, reclining mechanisms, upholstery materials, and wood finishing techniques preferred. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of furniture up to and in excess of 100 lbs. Making repairs to furniture requires lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping and moving furniture items to accommodate the repairs. Work in residential, commercial, warehouse, and outdoor environments under varying conditions.
