Sr. Software Engineer - Platform Engineering

Overview As a Senior Software Engineer on Wonder’s Developer Experience & AI Velocity team, you’ll help stand up AI-native developer tooling for a large engineering organization. You’ll design context aggregation, MCPs/CLIs, and AI agents that securely access Wonder’s codebases and systems, shaping autonomous development workflows. You’ll bring external AI tooling patterns, elevate code review and testing with AI, and optimize costs while driving developer velocity. This role combines hands-on engineering with cross-team collaboration to scale AI-enabled development across Wonder. Compensation / Benefitsequity and 401(k)medical, dental, and vision plansshort and long-term disability coveragepaid time off including flexible time offpaid vacation for non-exempt employeespaid parental leave Responsibilities Design and ship AI-native tooling: context aggregation, MCPs/CLIs, skills, and sub-agents Define and stand up autonomous development agents and cloud agent solutions Introduce external AI tooling patterns and standards for Wonder's stack Develop pre-review and triage tooling to automate issues before human review Optimize AI costs and abstract model selection for engineers Scope, design, and ship developer tooling with cross-team collaboration Create clear specs and documentation and solicit feedback from the organization Key requirements Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent practical experience 5+ years in professional software engineering Hands-on experience with LLM-based tooling (agents, MCP servers, coding assistants)Direct experience integrating AI tools into real development workflows (code review, testing, generation, or documentation)Strong system design skills and end-to-end ownership of tools/platforms Ability to work with ambiguity and shape playbooks for a new team Experience designing and consuming APIs, webhooks, or integration systems Experience building developer tooling, internal platforms, CI/CD, or similar systems Java/JVM and/or Python experience is a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsexcellent communicationability to drive technical discussions across teamscross-functional collaborationLLM-based toolingAI agents and MCP serverscode review automation and documentation tooling
