Description:
Who are you?
10+ years leading growth, brand, or marketing for a high-growth subscription, membership, or DTC business, with real ownership of both the acquisition side and the retention/LTV side of the P&L
A demonstrated track record of building and scaling a multi-channel growth engine, spanning paid, creator, referral, community, and organic, into an efficient, diversified customer acquisition strategy
Brand strategy and customer targeting experience: you've personally defined who a business's ideal customer is and translated that into positioning, messaging, creative direction and new customer acquisition
Subscription or membership-model experience strongly preferred — you think natively in cohorts, retention curves, and LTV, not just CAC and conversion rate
Hands-on fluency with AI agents and modern marketing tooling: you've evaluated, piloted, or managed agentic tools for campaign management, creative iteration, lifecycle automation, or community/DM management; comfort operating a lean, technology-enabled team
Strong command of unit economics, including LTV:CAC, payback period, cohort retention, contribution margin, and the judgment to use them to make channel and spend decisions
Experience managing a marketing budget in the multi-million-dollar range across paid, organic, and lifecycle channels
A track record of leading and elevating strong functional operators (paid, creative, lifecycle, creator) into one integrated team
Clear, confident communicator who can represent brand and growth strategy to the executive team, the board, and lenders with equal ease
Experience in apparel, fashion, or another physical-inventory subscription model a plus
Experience running qualitative customer research (interviews, segmentation studies) and translating it directly into positioning or targeting decisions a plus
Responsibilities:
Brand Strategy & Customer Targeting
Define who Armoire is for and how we're positioned against competitors like Rent the Runway and Nuuly
Translate that positioning into a clear customer targeting framework that actively guides channel, creative, and messaging decisions
Serve as the organization's primary point of view on brand and customer targeting
Growth Channel Strategy & Experimentation
Own channel mix strategy across paid, creator, community, and lifecycle, with authority to shift spend as the mix evolves
Establish a standing experimentation cadence and testing prioritization process, with documented and shared learnings
Build and own referral as a formal, measured acquisition channel
Work with design and product to set the AI tool standard for the marketing function and manage the build-out of agentic workflows across channels
Lead and integrate a team of channel and function leads (paid, creator & partnerships, lifecycle, creative strategy, growth analytics)
Determine where AI agents extend the team's capacity and where work should stay human
Reporting & Cross-functional Partnership
Own LTV:CAC, payback, and contribution-margin reporting by channel, and ensure it's clean, trusted, and reviewed on a regular cadence
Partner with Finance on budget-to-actual tracking and marketing spend forecasting
Represent marketing strategy and performance to the executive team, the board, and lenders as needed
What success looks like:
Active subscriber growth accelerates, with an increasing share of new subscribers coming from owned and earned channels rather than incremental paid spend
Blended CAC and paid channel concentration decreases measurably as creator, referral, and retention-driven acquisition grow as a share of the channel mix
LTV:CAC ratio improves and is reported cleanly and consistently by channel, giving leadership a reliable read on unit economics
You’ll be part of a mission‑driven team reinventing an industry — with data at the core. We offer a highly collaborative environment, meaningful ownership over the company's brand and growth strategy, and the chance to build the marketing function as Armoire scales.
