Financial Accountant (Senior)

SUMMARY: An established community-focused organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage accounting activities across both nonprofit and affiliated commercial operations. This full-time, on-site opportunity offers broad ownership of financial reporting, daily transactions, budgeting, and financial controls, with regular collaboration across organizational leadership. Coordinate monthly closing activities, reconcile accounts, and deliver accurate financial reports for management and governing leadership. Handle end-to-end accounting for two related entities, maintaining complete and organized financial records. Administer billing, incoming payments, collections, vendor payments, bank deposits, and recurring payment cycles. Prepare and process payroll accurately and on schedule. Maintain accounting safeguards and practices aligned with GAAP and applicable tax requirements. Organize supporting schedules and records for annual audits and assist with auditor requests. Translate financial results into practical information that supports operational planning and decisions. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. At least five years of progressively responsible accounting experience; exposure to nonprofit accounting is a plus. Working knowledge of QuickBooks, TOPS, or comparable accounting platforms, along with Microsoft Office. Hands-on experience preparing for audits, completing month-end close, and reconciling subsidiary ledgers. Ability to build budgets and explain financial information to colleagues outside accounting.
