What You'll Do: You'll provide psychiatric care to adults across several behavioral health settings, including outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment, substance-use treatment, and medication-assisted treatment programs.
Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
  • Diagnose psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
  • Monitor medication effectiveness, adherence, and potential side effects
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention when necessary
  • Provide psychiatric care to adults with complex behavioral health needs
  • Treat individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance-use disorders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary behavioral health and medical teams
  • Coordinate care with hospitals, primary care providers, specialists, and community resources
  • Support continuity of care across outpatient and residential settings
  • Provide clinical guidance to other members of the care team
  • Contribute to medication-management protocols and clinical best practices
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in a shared, light on-call rotation for urgent clinical matters
  • Patient Population
This position serves adults ages 18+ across several different behavioral health environments. You'll have the opportunity to work with patients receiving: Outpatient psychiatric care Residential behavioral health services Substance-use treatment Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) Integrated behavioral and medical care Care for co-occurring behavioral health and medical conditions The variety of programs gives you the opportunity to work with different patient populations without being limited to a traditional outpatient psychiatric practice.
What We're Looking For:
  • Active New York State Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license
  • Board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Active DEA registration and NPI3+ years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred
  • Strong psychiatric assessment and medication-management experience
  • Experience in community behavioral health, outpatient psychiatry, residential treatment, substance-use treatment, MAT, or similar settings preferred
  • Comfortable treating adults with complex psychiatric and substance-use needs
  • Strong clinical judgment and crisis-assessment skills
  • Interest or experience in clinical leadership and program development
  • Comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Ability to work across multiple NYC locations
  • Telepsychiatry experience is a plus
