Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures and related imaging techniques. The technologist will work closely with licensed practitioners and the healthcare team to produce high-quality diagnostic images while providing safe, compassionate, and professional patient care.
Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures and related imaging techniques. Review patient clinical history and correlate it with the requested procedure. Prepare patients, explain procedures, provide instructions, and minimize patient anxiety. Select and operate radiation detection, imaging, and associated equipment. Properly position patients and equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Prepare, calculate, identify, and administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications as prescribed. Perform venipuncture as required. Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper patient and procedure identification. Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures and verify informed consent. Follow appropriate aseptic techniques, universal precautions, and radiation-safety practices. Provide for the physical and emotional needs of patients throughout procedures. Initiate basic life support measures when necessary. Maintain accurate and confidential patient and departmental records. Report equipment malfunctions and assist with equipment and supply management. Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and quality-control activities. Provide practical instruction to students and other healthcare professionals when appropriate. Maintain required certifications, registrations, and continuing education. Float to other departments when qualified and as required by operational needs. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
  • OBMI registration/licensureARRT Nuclear Medicine registration
  • Current BLS certification
Preferred: 2+ years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience. CRASE training. If the assignment extends beyond six months, CRASE training may be required.
Experience: No minimum experience required.
Physical & Work Environment: The position requires frequent standing and walking, along with the ability to perform patient positioning, equipment handling, venipuncture, and other clinical procedures. The technologist must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently and safely assist with heavier patient transfers using appropriate equipment or team assistance. The role is performed in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, medical equipment, and other clinical hazards. Appropriate safety procedures and PPE must be followed at all times.
