Senior Retail Sales Associate – Musical Instruments

Music & Arts seeks a part-time Senior Sales Associate to support our mission of advancing music education. In this in-store role, you’ll guide students, parents, and educators in selecting instruments, accessories, and lessons, with a focus on band and orchestra. You’ll handle sales, rentals, and lesson enrollments, maintain merchandising standards, and help meet store sales goals. Working in a collaborative, student-focused environment, you’ll support community engagement, ensure outstanding customer service, and grow your skills in mission-driven retail. Provide consultative in-store sales for instruments, accessories, and lessons Support rental programs for band and orchestra instruments Deliver excellent customer service to students, parents, and educators Maintain product displays, merchandising, and store cleanliness Process sales, rentals, returns, and lesson enrollments accurately Collaborate with lesson and repair teams to meet customer needs Meet or exceed individual and store sales goals Educate customers on financing, protection plans, and promotions Assist with inventory counts, stocking, and loss prevention Promote community events and music education initiatives Retail sales Point-of-sale (POS) systems Customer service Product knowledge – musical instruments Merchandising Inventory management Cash handling and reconciliation Sales reporting Lesson and rental program coordination Basic computer proficiency Background in music performance or education preferred Experience with band and orchestra instruments preferred Prior specialty retail experience a plus
