About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Neuro ICU RN in Newburgh, Indiana, 47630!Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Neuro ICULocationNewburgh, IN | Neuro ICUSchedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Three weekends per six-week schedule | Every other holidayKey ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care in a Neuro ICU setting, managing a general ICU population including post-stroke, sepsis, DKA, post-code, and respiratory distress patients, with potential to care for more acute neuro patients (drains, biopsies, ventriculostomy) once established on the unitInitiate and titrate sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medications; manage external ventriculostomy devicesPerform and document NIHSS assessments and dysphagia screens; demonstrate strong neurological assessment skillsInterpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs; travelers are required to pass telemetry competency testsManage ETT/ventilator patients (respiratory therapy available) and apply sepsis protocols and careFloat within skillset as needed, including potential cross-campus float with a minimum of 2 hours' notice; may assist with precepting students and new hires as this is a teaching facilityRequired QualificationsCurrent, active RN compact licenseAHA BLS certification requiredAHA ACLS certification requiredNIHSS certification requiredMinimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 full year in an ICU settingMinimum 1 prior travel assignment and Trauma Level II experienceRecent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start) Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligiblePreferred Experience / SkillsExperience with CRRTtPA administration and post-tPA assessmentsMassive transfusion protocol experience (Belmont device) Adaptable, resilient, and collaborative with strong critical thinking skillsWhy Join UsJoin a seasoned, collaborative permanent staff on a well-established 32-bed Neuro ICU unit known for strong teamwork and experienced leadershipExpected 36 hours per week with the option for 48-hour contracts upon request; overtime may be available per contract terms About Concentric Healthcare StaffingFounded and headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, Concentric Healthcare Staffing specializes in healthcare employment with an emphasis in nursing and allied health.
