Unix Engineer

Job Description: Must Have Technical/Functional Skills - Minimum 3-5 years of Unix experience for AVP level and 5 years for VP level. Strong hands-on experience supporting Unix/Linux operating systems in enterprise infrastructure environments. Experience in OS patch engineering, patch catalogue management, patch testing, certification, validation, and controlled release. Knowledge of patch tooling integration and automation across infrastructure platforms. Understanding of production, operational, security, and compliance requirements for Unix patching.

Roles & Responsibilities: Design, test, and certify Unix operating-system patching solutions, patch catalogues, and platform enhancements. Support Unix OS patch engineering, patch-tool integration, and automation capabilities across infrastructure platforms. Validate, test, and release Unix patches to meet production, compliance, security, and operational requirements. Maintain patch certification evidence, release documentation, implementation procedures, and operational handover records. Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to resolve dependencies and support reliable patch deployment.
