Building Maintenance Technician

Lutheran Social Services seeks a Maintenance professional to ensure safe, reliable, and well-maintained facilities that support our mission-driven behavioral health, housing, and family services programs. This role performs routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and resident units; completes work orders; and supports inspections of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems. The Maintenance staff collaborates closely with program teams, responds to emergencies, upholds safety standards, and helps create dignified, welcoming environments for clients and staff. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and resident units Complete work orders for repairs in a timely, professional manner Inspect HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems and report issues Maintain safe, clean, and code-compliant facilities and grounds Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed Document maintenance activities and maintain inventory of tools and supplies Support emergency response, on-call, and after-hours maintenance needs Collaborate with care and program staff to minimize disruption to clients Building maintenance HVAC systems Basic electrical repair Basic plumbing repair Preventive maintenance scheduling Safety and code compliance Work order systems/CMMS Hand and power tools Reading blueprints and manuals Vendor and contractor coordination Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k EPA 608 certification preferred Journeyman or trade license in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing a plus OSHA safety training preferred Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
