Overview
In this role you design, deliver, and oversee workforce development within the RTC, ensuring trauma-informed, youth-centered care aligned with policy standards. You collaborate with HR and leaders to build a robust training program, manage onboarding, and support ongoing staff growth. You will coordinate TCI training and drive CQI-driven improvements while promoting a culture of learning. This hybrid, full-time position in Wading River offers cross-location work and training travel as needed.
Responsibilities Identify training needs with HR and build a comprehensive program for new and current staff Design and deliver onboarding and orientation for RTC staff Track staff training compliance with OCFS and internal standards Collaborate with external agencies for partnerships and offerings Advertise trainings and ensure compliance for mandatory sessions Engage in outreach events to bolster recruitment Develop and facilitate training on trauma-informed care, youth engagement, crisis intervention, documentation, and protocols Coordinate Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, scheduling, recertification, data tracking, and external facilitators Work with QA, HR, and leadership to identify needs and drive CQIMaintain centralized training calendar documenting attendance, certifications, and evaluations Lead staff focus groups to identify training gaps and support needs Provide coaching and professional development across RTC staff levels Support leadership development and succession planning via targeted learning Foster a culture of learning aligned with trauma-informed care Assess best practices to attract, develop, and retain a skilled workforce Gather employee feedback via stay interviews to improve engagement and development
Key requirements Bachelor's degree in education, human services, organizational development, or related field Minimum of 3 years in training, facilitation, or workforce development, preferably in child welfare or residential care Certified TCI trainer preferred or ability to become certified upon hire Experience in adult learning, coaching, and trauma-informed systems change Excellent communication, organization, and instructional design skills Travel to Wading River and other locations as requiredcommunicationorganizationcollaborationinstructional designtrauma-informed trainingTCI training coordination
