About the role

Retirement Benefits: Clerk The Retirement Benefits Clerk performs administrative and clerical duties associated with the verification of participants' retirement benefits applications in accordance with Company policies, regulatory requirements, and Plan guidelines. Has minimum necessary access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by Job Description/Role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains current knowledge of assigned Plan(s).Verifies all required documents are received to process application. Reviews submitted documents for accuracy and completeness. Verifies that all required entries are completed. Verifies signatures have been provided where needed. Determines if additional or supplemental documentation is needed (e.g. QDRO, Social Security Earning report, historical data lookup).Contacts participants by phone or in writing to obtain missing documents or incomplete information. Forwards completed applications for processing. Identifies applications that require additional review and forwards to appropriate internal department. Conducts research and validation of submitted documents when needed. Resolves escalated issues and inquiries. Assists with special projects as requested by management. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.Six months experience working in a professional environment. Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials, technical procedures, benefit plans and regulations. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Strong understanding of discretion and the appropriate handling of sensitive information. Solid organization skills with an attention to detail. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Computer proficiency including MS Office tools and applications.
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual English and Spanish, based on location needs. Prior retirement plan administration experience. Working Conditions/Physical Effort Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
