K-12 Academic Tutor – Education Nonprofit

City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Support teachers with classroom activities and student engagement Monitor and track student progress toward academic goals Serve as a positive mentor and role model for students Communicate regularly with school staff to coordinate student support Participate in City Year trainings, team meetings, and service projects Promote an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment Use technology and data tools to document services and outcomes Lesson planning Small-group instruction One-on-one tutoring Academic progress monitoring Classroom management support Data entry and reporting Educational technology tools Communication with teachers and families Mentoring and youth development Time management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Background check and fingerprint clearance as required by school district Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (if applicable) Experience working with youth in educational or community settings preferred Basic proficiency with computers and educational technology
