About the role

Position Summary: The Pediatric Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive healthcare services to infants, children, and adolescents under the supervision of a licensed physician. This role includes diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, promoting preventive care, and supporting families in managing pediatric health conditions. The PA works in a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on delivering high-quality pediatric care.
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Care Perform age-appropriate patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinationsDiagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditionsDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physiciansOrder, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (lab work, imaging, screenings) Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations Preventive & Developmental Care Conduct well-child visits and routine health screeningsMonitor growth and developmental milestonesAdminister immunizations following recommended schedulesProvide anticipatory guidance on nutrition, safety, and developmental health Family & Patient Education Educate parents and caregivers on diagnosis, treatment plans, and home careOffer guidance on pediatric health topics such as feeding, sleep, behavior, and illness preventionSupport families in managing chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, ADHD) Care Coordination Collaborate with pediatricians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionalsRefer patients to specialists as neededParticipate in care planning and follow-up management Administrative & Documentation Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR systemEnsure compliance with clinical guidelines, regulatory standards, and safety protocolsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives Qualifications Required Master s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant programCurrent NCCPA certificationActive state PA license (or eligibility to obtain) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferredKnowledge of pediatric medicine, development, and preventive care Preferred 1 3 years of experience in pediatrics or family medicineExperience in outpatient pediatric clinic or pediatric hospital settingFamiliarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
