Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner

What You'll Do: Provide psychiatric assessments and medication management for pediatric and adult patients. Support and precept psychiatric NP students and help with teaching sessions. Offer prescription and refill coverage for fellow providers. Onboard new psychiatric providers, including showing them the EHR and how programs run. Hold regular weekly check-ins with new NPs during their first 3 months. Consult on complex cases and help with escalations. Review patient progress and coordinate discharge and aftercare plans. Teach patients about their mental health and recovery strategies. Bring evidence-based best practices to the clinical team. Support program leaders with day-to-day administrative needs. Cover limited hours at sites with psychiatric openings as needed.

Qualifications: Active NYS Nurse Practitioner license and DEA.PMHNP-BC board certified. MSN or higher from an accredited program. Strong outpatient or community psychiatric experience across a variety of diagnoses and age groups. Experience or strong interest in training and supervising new NPs and students. Occasional local travel between NYC-area locations. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
