Maintenance technician

Salary: Up to $36/hr.

Shift: 4:00 pm - 12:00 am (Midnight).

Location: St. Charles, MO.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial production equipment and mechanical systemsPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtimeTroubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, drives, ovens, furnaces, bearings, gearboxes, piping systems, and other rotating equipmentRemove and install mechanical seals, bearings, couplings, and other mechanical componentsPerform precision alignment of pumps and rotating equipment using dial indicators and other precision measurement toolsTroubleshoot and repair industrial textile and knitting equipment used in the carbon fiber manufacturing processPerform mechanical assembly and disassembly of production equipmentFabricate, modify, and repair equipment and components as neededPerform pipe fitting and welding-related repairs when qualifiedAssist with equipment installation, startup, and facility improvement projectsLearn and troubleshoot single- and three-phase electrical systemsTroubleshoot 480V VFD controllers, overloads, contactors, circuit breakers, limit switches, conveyors, and related electrical componentsConduct equipment inspections and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtimeFollow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry requirementsSafely work at heights, in confined spaces, and around energized and rotating equipment as trained and authorizedDocument maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS systemMaintain a clean and organized work area while supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiativesCommunicate effectively with production, maintenance, and leadership teamsSupport other maintenance and facility-related duties as assignedEducation RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED requiredRelated technical certification preferredAssociate's degree or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related field preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Minimum 3 years of plant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong mechanical aptitude and industrial maintenance experienceSkilled in mechanical troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and disassemblyExperience working with pumps, motors, drives, gearboxes, bearings, mechanical seals, and rotating equipmentAbility to perform precision alignment using dial indicators and other measurement toolsBasic electrical knowledge with the ability and willingness to learn industrial electrical systemsExperience troubleshooting 480V VFDs, contactors, overloads, circuit breakers, limit switches, and conveyors is a strong plusElectrical and controls experienceStructure welding/SMAW (stick) welding training and experience is a plusAbility to read and interpret technical documentation, equipment manuals, and schematicsProficient with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical maintenance equipmentComputer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Internet applicationsCMMS experience preferredForklift experience is a plusAbility to work safely at heights and in confined spacesAbility to wear a full-face respirator when requiredStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsStrong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementAbility to work around carbon fiber materials, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperaturesAbility to work around moving machinery and industrial equipment while following all required PPE and safety procedures
