About the role

'Hematologist/Oncologist
Position Overview: Seeking a Board Certified Hematologist/Oncologist to provide coverage for an FMLA leave. This position is primarily focused on hematology in a community-based cancer program with both outpatient clinic and inpatient consult responsibilities, along with shared after-hours call.

Responsibilities:
  • Outpatient hematology and oncology clinic
  • Inpatient hematology and oncology consultations
  • Infusion center patient management
  • Shared after-hours call
  • Order laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
  • Prescribe medications and treatment plans
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings
  • Clinical Focus
  • Greater than 90% Hematology
  • Less than 10% Solid Tumor Oncology
  • Benign Hematology
  • Malignant Hematology
  • Community oncology practice (no bone marrow transplant or advanced academic therapies)
  • Required Procedures
  • Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA)
